Boulevard Drobnera Residence is a unique project by Wrocław-based studio Major Architekci, which masterfully combines 19th-century historic architecture with modern form and functionality. The historic building, erected in 1875 to a design by Johann Robert Mende, served education for decades - it housed, among other things, an elementary school and a college of arts and crafts. Today, after careful restoration, its original brick facade still adorns the front façade as a symbol of heritage, authenticity and permanence. On the Oder side, in the immediate vicinity of the greenery, a modern apartment building has been created, harmoniously integrated into the body of the former school. This contrasting dialogue of two eras creates a coherent, architecturally daring whole.
As the architects emphasise:
"Two different contexts - the frontage development of the Nadodrze river and the historic school building - have been combined through the non-obvious form of the buildings. The sloping façade on the river side softens the urban scale, opening up the space to greenery. This is where most of the loggias are planned. Glazing to the height of the entire storey allows residents to enjoy the view of the vibrant city." The Boulevard Drobnera Residence is not only a prestigious address - it is an architectural story about the harmony of history and modernity.
